Set within a quiet residential building, this thoughtfully furnished flat offers a peaceful, light-filled retreat with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Whether you're visiting the Lake District, spending time with loved ones, or working in the area, Indian Court provides a welcoming home base. The entrance is at ground level, with stairs leading up to the first-floor apartment. The layout includes:

  • A  twin bedroom at the top of the stairs
  • A  bathroom with a bath and shower over, basin, W.C., and a laundry area complete with washing machine, ironing board, and iron
  • A well-equipped kitchen with a full-size 50/50 fridge freezer, hob and double oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, and breakfast bar — ideal for cooking and eating in
  • A large, light-filled living room with a smart TV, comfy corner sofa, and generous dining table for gathering or working
  • A master bedroom with a double bed and a chair bed that can be made up on request

With tasteful touches, plenty of space to relax, and beautiful natural light throughout, Stay Still Indian Court is a peaceful place to pause, stay, and feel at home — whether for a weekend or a longer stay.

Getting around

🚗 Getting Around Dalston is well-connected despite its rural charm.

There’s a regular train service from Dalston Station, less than half a mile away from Indian court which has direct routes into Carlisle (only 10 minutes) and onward connections to London, Glasgow, and the Lake District via Carlisle.

If you’re driving, Indian Court is easily accessible from the M6 motorway (Junction 42), and there’s free on-street parking nearby.

Local buses run through the village connecting to Carlisle, Keswick and surrounding areas, and you’re just a short drive from scenic spots like Caldbeck, Uldale, and the Caldbeck Fells. Keswick and the central Lake District are around 40–45 minutes away by car. Cyclists will enjoy the quiet country lanes and access to National Cycle Routes, while walkers can head straight out into the countryside from the door.

📍 The Neighbourhood Dalston is a picturesque village just south of Carlisle, with a friendly community, supporting a hub of small businesses and local shops, such as Suzie boo gift shop, Five Sences beauty and holistic salon, Kudos hairdressers, Local butchers - Carrock Meats,

There are lovely riverside walks  and once you have worked up an appitite if you dont fancy cooking then there is a choice of two popular pubs, The Blue Bell which is less than two minutes walk or the Bridge End Inn half a mile away. If you are looking for something quick there is a fabulous sandwich shop open during the day or a Fish and chip takeaway which is open till 9pm. Another lovely addition is the Countryside cafe also in the square — and all within walking distance.

The area is perfect for walkers, cyclists, and those seeking peaceful countryside without being too far from amenities. From here, you’re within easy reach of the quieter northern Lake District. The charming villages of Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket are both just a 20-minute drive away, with scenic fell walks, artisan shops, and a popular tearoom. For bigger adventures, Keswick and Derwentwater are around 40–45 minutes by car — ideal for day trips to the heart of the Lakes. Hadrian’s Wall, the Solway Coast, and the city of Carlisle are also nearby, offering a mix of history, coast, and culture. Whether you're here to unwind, explore, or work remotely in peace, the Annex makes a perfect base.
